In all honesty, I would expect that if I was in Mexico, calling something “street kitchen” meant that I had a 50-50 change of either having the meal of my life or getting some exotic kind of bowel disease. In London terms, this just means a food truck, this “establishment” of sorts that has gained incredibly big traction with the foodie community. They even make movies about food truck.

Perhaps as a disclaimer – I love burritos. Which can only work in the favour of any places selling me these. However the Wahaca Mexican Street Kitchen fell a bit flat – it reminded me more of the average shawarma stalls we have in Romania than of a good burrito joint. The sauces were all at the bottom, and a bit too watery. They just ended dripping from one end and not really flavouring the other. Bar for me being incredibly hungry, the meal was average.

One of the burritos even gave Ioana some stomach problems – or at least we assume it did. So far, tho, South Bank has not yet really given me much options in terms of good stuff to put in my belly. Might try the food truck on the other side, maybe Brazilian street food has a better chance of pleasing me.
